Californians for Energy Independence supported the International Trade Education Programs’ (ITEP) Women in Engineering Day at Los Angeles Harbor College in Harbor City. Dedicated to introducing young women to the unlimited career opportunities in the world of STEM education, the event featured panelists and booths from the oil and gas industry, city engineers, scientists and government employees.
Over 150 young women from Rancho Dominguez Prep, Banning High School, Carson High School, San Pedro High School and 20 Los Angeles Harbor College students were in attendance where they had the opportunity to connect with professional women in the STEM industry, including a Greenhouse Gas Program Engineer with California Resource Corporation to learn first-hand career knowledge about potential opportunities in engineering and the pathways to get there.
