Californians for Energy Independence (CEI) hosted its Careers in Energy Booth at Oxnard Union High School District’s 2nd Annual STEM Day for Girls. The program is designed to inspire girls to pursue STEM careers, in addition to providing parents with information on how to educate and encourage daughters to attend higher education. Students rotated through sessions covering four different engineering themes: Mechanical, Computer, Aeronautical, and Electrical. Aera Energy and California Resources Corporation hosted two of the engineering workshops with local female engineers. CEI provided information to the female students in attendance about the different types of careers in the energy industry and how it is possible to achieve a rewarding, well-paying job in the energy industry.
