Careers in Energy and VC Supervisor John Zaragoza Host School Supply Giveaway in Nyeland Acres

In an effort to give back to the communities in which our energy industry employees live and work, Ventura Citizens for Energy Independence, along with Ventura County Supervisor John Zaragoza, hosted a free barbecue and school supply giveaway in partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme’s Nyeland Acres Center.

More than 300 students and residents from the Nyeland Acres community attended the free community event, which included a barbecue, dance presentation by Boys & Girls Club students, free backpacks and school supplies to all children in attendance, a raffle, and a gift of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)-focused supplies to the Boys & Girls Club Nyeland Acres Center.
