CEI partnered with Councilmember Soria and sponsored a trip for Soria’s Young Councilmember Program to tour Aera Energy’s oilfield in Coalinga. This event gave ten students from Soria’s council district the chance to learn more about the diversity of high-paying jobs available in the energy industry as well as an introduction to the oil industry, including showing them the wide range of products made by petroleum. Students heard from Aera employees including the site public affairs supervisor Feleena Sutton, operations manager Ed Patterson, geologist Dallon Strong, reliability specialist Jason Lopez and health and safety advisor Jay Haas. The students were excited to learn about new career opportunities and how energy is produced safely and responsibly in their community.
