Aera Energy, Ventura Citizens for Energy Independence and the Westpark Community Center hosted a community day for families and students to enjoy an afternoon of fun, games, and hands-on STEM activities. More than 300 community members gathered at the center where they were provided community resource information from Ventura County Health Services, Ventura Housing Authority, Food Share and the Ventura Police Department.
More than a dozen Aera Energy employees conducted hands on STEM demonstrations focusing on the science behind oil and gas production. Careers in Energy provided helpful career pathway materials for students to explore careers in the oil and gas industry. Students from the Channel Islands High School Upward Bound/CI Dream program volunteered and assisted with bilingual services.
