Californians for Energy Independence’s Careers in Energy Program partnered with the West Fresno Family Resource Center to help prepare community families for the upcoming school year.
The event, held at the Maxie L. Parks Community Center in Southwest Fresno, gave students and their families the tools they need to begin the 2019-2020 school year successfully. In addition to handing out hundreds of free backpacks, the students also received haircuts and more!
Careers in Energy was excited to share information about the importance of a Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) education. A highlight of everyone’s day was getting to hang out with Olympic Gold Medalist and the community center namesake, Maxie Parks!
