Ventura Citizens for Energy Independence proudly sponsored the Santa to the Sea Marathon in Oxnard. The race draws thousands of participants, volunteers and spectators. Proceeds benefit Food Share, Boys & Girls Club of Oxnard & Port Hueneme, United Way of Ventura County and others, in addition to a toy-drive.

The following weekend, VCEI representatives attended the Toy Drive giveaway in front of the Santa Statue in Nyeland Acres.  Hundreds of kids ages 1-13 received a gift from this event. Respected community leaders from the police, sheriff and highway patrol participated in the event handing out toys to children who were lined up down the street.
